I’ve been wanting to make this for a while now, so I did!
Keep Calm ‘Merica Version
This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

Keep Calm ‘Merica Version
I was up in my room watching Telly,
when I heard a rumble rise from my belly
So I got off of my seat, to find something to eat
that would fill me up pretty welly.
My pantry was not much of a pleaser,
and my fridge seemed only a teaser
for both things were bare holding nothing but air
so instead I looked in the freezer.
Hot dogs would have to appease
but cravings are quite the disease
for you see I have the Mac, and I’m excited for that
but unfortunately I lack the cheese.
:(

Tomorrow is the day when the nominations for the Oscars are being announced and this is getting me excited for a couple of my favorite catigories. Unfortunatley, I have not seen as many of the movies as I should have this year, compared to my last years reel in of seing most of the major contendors. However, I am more curious rather then excited to see the nominations for Best animated film. As a film major I strive to look for deep films with multiple meanings and high artistic qualities, yet I am continuosly drawn to Animated films time after time. They are the films that constantly cycle back into my Xbox for viewing and often when I’m looking for a movie to watch it’s an animated one I usually decide upon, and when ever I’m recomending a film to a friend or coworker, animated films are what I find myself talking about.
Which brings me to my next point of how dissapointed I am 2011’s line up of animated titles. Once more, I haven’t seen most of these films, howevere, unlike thier live action counterparts, it’s not out of lack of time or funds, but simply out of lack of want. The only film I’ve seen in this genre is Rio, which was good but nothing worth praising. I havn’t seen Rango or Whinnie the Pooh, and the only other titlte I wanted to see, was even excited for, The Adventures of Tintin, I haven’t seen either, but thats like what, four out of twelve?
Last year brought us what is in my opinion, some of the best animated films ever made; Dispicable Me, Legends of the Guardians, and How to train your Dragon, which is arguably the best movie of all time to me, and I am still of the opinion that it only lost to Toy Story 3 because of the combined wieght of Pixar’s name and the Toy Story franchise. I feel that although Toy Story 3 was a good film, it was the weaker in comparison to How to Train your Dragon. (Also, it had one of the best original scores I’ve ever heard and I get the chills when ever I hear it, sadly Trent reznor won for the facebook movie…) but I’m getting off topic.
I guess what I’m saying is that I wish 2011 had abit more promise in the animation department then it did, and i have no clue as to what will win, though I’m strongly sure that it won’t be Gnomeo and Juliet, or Hoodwinked 2 (and I pray to the gods of Cinema that it isn’t the Smurfs…)
I guess I’ll just have to pick myself up, hold my head high, and trudge onward into 2012 with greater hopes of promise and who knows, with How to Train your Dragon 2 possably coming out in either 2012 or 2013, it may be a promise worth seeing yet.
….that is if the world dosn’t end and all.
it’s true!
This is amazing.
My Kitty “helping” me with my art project.
It’s wednesday (why dose that word have to be so hard to spell….) I have a hole day to myself, what should I do? Well there’s some writing I could try and get done for a screenplay ore one of my speeches for next year, I could watch movies, I love doing that, I could play video games, or draw. But I probably wont do any of that and instead sit on my computer all day, tabbing between Facebook, Tumblr, and now this awesome Google+! but I’ll probably play some Oblivion. also, Happy Birthday to a very special woman in my life! I love you mom!
If any of you know me in real life, you know that I am, by nature, a procrastinator. I don’t know how I got this way, but appearntly it is within my genetic make up to never start anything untill the last possible second. Also it takes the slightist things to distract me and I don’t stay very focused for long, my own tumblr is an example of this. With this in mind, it is not supprising that I have written next to nothing as far as scripts go. This make’s me sad and a little angry with myself.
Although there are alot of things that take up my time, I don’t exactly live a busy life; I go to work, I go to school. In between those I do a lot of reading Stephen King novels, playing online flash games or reading the Tumblog lilithfilm.tumblr.com/. Also, there is of course Facebook. While Stephen King and Sridhar M. Reddy surve as insperation and guides, and are no waste of time by anymeanes, even when I’m not reading their wrok I find myself basically just sitting at my computer doing nothing.
I’m sitting at my computer anyway, so whats so hard about opening up Pages or better yet Celtix and working on screen play? Absolutly nothing…nothing except the notion of “I can do this latter.”
Not a very good quality for an aspiering film maker to have.
I know alot of it is that what ever I write will be the first scipt I write and I guess I’m just afraid of it sucking. I’ve heard it said from many filmmakes that Film making isn’t something you start out amazing at, that your first attempts arn’t going to be master pecies, but that dosen’t mean you are bad at making fims, your’re just new. I also tend to think on what I call a “Hollywood” level, meaning I want to do things that are either 1) way to expensive to pull off, or 2)Requiers technology I’ve only dreemed of having on my computer. This is mostly related to loving starwars and comic books.
Although I have been greatly inspiered by Steven Spielberg, I have to remember that it’s movies like Children of Men and Stanly Kubrics The Shining that make me want to become a film maker. So heres what I want, need to do; set myself a dead line.
I will give myself untill my birthday, July 31st (same birthday as Harry Potter!) to have a completely finished scrrenplay. It will be my birthday gift myself. If that is a bit of a genourous time fram, I don’t care. I’m new at thise and I’m claiming trianing wheels!
All I know is that I want to make movies. I have a lot of stories to tell, and it’s about damn time I started telling them.
